Church Keys

What are church keys?

They are officially described as bottle openers or can openers with a triangle shape on one end. But how did they get named church keys? No one seems to know.

Many think they got the name because of their original shape which is similar to the big iron church keys once used to unlock the church doors. Perhaps those old church keys for the doors were used to open a bottle or two, sparking the idea of using that shape to manufacture the church key bottle opener.

Whatever the reason, they're still the best way to open a bottle - even work on twist offs. Our line of beaded church keys is truly unique. Great as a gift for a collector or even for yourself.
